I had found your blog and saved it as a fellow New Englander and then picked up a book at our library. Just realized this morning the book was by the blog author. I am in the White Mountains in NH.
Having just read Julia Childs, My Life in France, it is lovely wonderful to read about her book from the editor's viewpoint. I am halfway though it on this stormy December afternoon.
We were fortunate to be able to visit France this summer and enjoy shopping in the markets and cooking. We were with friends in Provence and then with French friends in Brittany. I envy people who were smart enough to live in France when they were young. I got as far as Ireland, where the food was not very good at all, though we shopped in the wholesale market to feed 9 young hippies in a very large house in the Wicklow Hills.

Dear Ms Jones,
I have been an admirer of Julia Child for a long time and anyone who admires Julia knows Judith Jones' remarkable contibution to American culture for your good sense and taste in publishing and editing Julia. I really enjoyed the Tenth Muse, and use your sheperd's pie recipe everytime I make lamb now. I just learned from your article that The Way to Cook is on DVD and I am going to look for it now. Thank you for your work. I love reading Julia's introductions to recipes and little comments on culture in that distinctive voice you obviosly let shine. I only hate to think of what else like that may have been cut. I wanted also to call your attention to a young writer and chef who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, interned at Guy Savoy, and just finished a couple of years cooking at Le Bernardin. Her name is Ms Glaze, Ms Amy Glaze. She has a blog: Ms Glaze. One hilarious article on it is "How to Speak Like a French Chef" and a very funny video on it is on making Bodin Blanc which I know from your book you make on New Years. Ms Glaze just resigned at Le Bernardin to work on a book she wrote concerning her experience as a women traing and working as a cook in Paris. I know this from following her blog which I found when looking for a Boudin Blanc recipe (I didn't have Mastering ll at the time). She is not a Julie, but a serious cook, teacher, and writer who has taken a lot of chances betting on a dream. You have changed the life of many who you do not even know for the better through your graceful judgment. I am one of those. I know you are an exceptionally busy person, but you may enjoy taking a look at Ms. Glaze.
